johnny boy68 11,726
Well finally Kenny Dalglish as signed a 3 year contract for Liverpool which I for one didn't doubt but just as important imo to securing Kenny as manager is securing Steve Clarke.Has much as Kenny as been a factor in Liverpool's revival in his time back theres no denying the impact Clarke as had in the way Liverpool have played, after all you don't become Jose Morinho's assistant if your tactically inept.Dalglish provided that morale boost that you could see was really missing and then employing a man who knows whats needed in a team to become successful has made me for one very optimistic. I'm under no illusions that after some very good results but equally some bad ones that we're going to topple Utd,Chelsea,Arsenal and Man City next season............but with a couple of signings through the close season we "should" be up there fighting for a Champions League place from the start of the season. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/kenny-signs-three-year-deal
jasper65 6
Poor old Kenny's going to be disapointed when we make it 20 this time next year . I can't understand why it took them so long to make his position perminent? he was the fans choice and also started getting results! should have been a fore gone conclusion long ago..... Its going to be a top 6 from now on,if Liverpool can hit third or fourth that will be a great achievement....i know i,ll be rooting for them given the fact i,ll be spending most of next season visiting the likes of Doncaster and Barnsley .... and you,ll never walk......whats the rest ? Liverpool were lucky to have him as a great player and great manager(pre Hillsborough)and hopefully those days can return baw. What Dalglish as shown is a belief in youngsters(home grown)like Flanagan,Kelly,Spearing,Robinson and Shelvey and these lads have stepped up.Thats the Dalglish factor imo he's given the team a morale boost and put some pride back into playing for Liverpool again.........a inspirational character! Celtic were I recall going through some tough times on the field before Barnes and Dalglish took over........one title in 11/12 years.Hardly fair to blame Dalglish when he wasn't there 12 months. I think you've just got to admit you didn't have a strong team.........wasn't really until O'Neill took over you started winning titles consistanley again.

Mate the 90's were pure torture, better forgotten.. But the Kenny/Barnes combination will be etched in the celtic supports mind forever... A lttle man named Wim Jansen just made the rest of my life worth the living...... O'neil was a legend...if he was given more money at the right times then i believe he would have stuck around, who knows! You dont keep managers like around long offering pennies....
